Mother's Day is May 8th this year, and we're looking for a few good stories.

Every one of us has been inspired by someone in our lives, whether overtly through rigorous support or in subtle ways that became woven into the fiber of our being.

What was it about your mother -- or grandmother, sister, neighbor, teacher, or aunt -- that inspired you to enter into medicine? Tell us about a woman in your life who made a tremendous difference. We want to hear about a woman who helped you become the physician and mother you are today.

Winners will receive a $50 donation to the charity of your choice from MomMD.

Here's what we'd like from you:

• A story: In 500 words or fewer, tell us about the woman who inspired you
• A photograph: Attach it as a jpeg and identify the individual's name
