Melissa's Diary

Wow, only 1 more week of my month-long break is left! Today, my daughter started back to school from her break. I’m going to try to spend the rest of my time relaxing and getting ready for the next long semester. As I did before last semester began, I’m trying to fill my freezer with ready-to-heat meals. That worked out really well for my family and enabled me to study late into the evening without leaving my family without a decent dinner. Since my husband is having to be both dad and mom much of the time I feel that having some food ready is the least I can do!

Over the break I’ve been enjoing reading for fun. I’ve read all of the novels by Kathy Reichs (there are 5). The author (and her main character) is a forensic anthropologist. I picked up the first book on the recommendation of my husband’s aunt and quickly read the entire series. I have found them an enjoyable break from reading textbooks and notes packets! I also read Patricia Cornwell’s nonfiction book on Jack the Ripper. It was quite interesting, as was the nonfiction Richard Preston book “The Demon in the Freezer.” I’m getting ready to move on to the new Crichton hardback & the new Grisham paperback.

In case you can’t guess, I haven’t spent a whole lot of time doing anything else. Just a few more days to tie up loose ends!
