Each September the AMA commemorates Women in Medicine to recognize and celebrate the growing number and influence of women physicians in the profession and the community.

The 2003 theme "Strength Through Diversity" is a reflection of the growing diversity of women physicians and medical students and the new perspectives they are bringing to women's health, research, policy, the physician/patient relationship and organized medicine.
