Okay, I am choosing to just hope that I ovulated much later than I thought.
Berkley--can I ask you a charting question? I started temping on cd23 or so, to get ready for next cycle. Between days 25 & 27 my temp went up by .5 or so, and has since creeped up a little since. So I'm wondering if I might've ovulated on cd24 or 25. Would you see that big of a jump during the middle of a luteal phase? If it helps, on day 27, I actually remember thinking "now THAT is one low cervix" whereas before it had all been guesstimation.
The only thing that I can think happened is that my body got ready to ovulate and then my nutso-high-stress-type-A self had a round of exams and it was delayed till a few days after exams.
Alternatively, I have a really low & depressing HCG and my OB didn't think a follow up is necessary. I'm choosing to believe scenario A.
Due date? Ermmm using LMP it would be August 8, but could be later if using later ovulation possibility. I still feel really, really, scared and NOT pregnant and susceptible to early loss so I'm not pondering my academic options.

GatsbyJo, it definitely sounds to me like you ovulated on the 24th or 25th day of your cycle. A .5 jump in temps is exactly what you'd expect to see for ovulation, and no, I really doubt you'd see that in the middle of your luteal phase. (I know you asked somebody else, but I've read so much about this stuff in the past year -- I thought I'd chime in.) So there you go -- you ovulated late and now you're pregnant!!! Congratulations! Now you just have to convince your doctor to talk to you about what's going on. Either to do a repeat hcg (which seems prudent), or to do whatever it is he or she does when a patient gets pregnant! Good luck!!

Tigress, thanks! I definetely know if I requested the repeat HCG, that she would go for it. I also know if its low, I'll freak. And if its ok, I'll find something new to freak about. And I don't want to spend pregnancy and beyond being a nervous wreck, so it stops here. Mostly because there is NOTHING that can be done if HCG is low.
So, we're just following office protocol, a visit with the nurse at 8 weeks, doctor later, and call if cramping or bleeding. I'd like to know more sooner, but again, that wouldn't change my actions. Depending on how I'm feeling I might ask for another HCG at the first visit. But for now, I need to chill out.

gatsby-i can you pm me a link to your chart so that i can take a look? i think it woudl be hard to say that you see a jump on cd 24 after charting only 1 day prior. your chart could have been triphasic or anything. it's just rally hard to tell. if you did how many dpo were you when you got your + hpt? so when did you get a low bhcg? do you think it was too early to get a high enough #? is your dr. following up with serial hcgs?

Gatsby, I completely know what you mean about freaking out. I worry every single day, even though my hcg did rise (actually the doubling time was about 30 hours rather than 48). It's difficult this early, when so many things can go wrong and there's really no way of knowing. I welcome every single symptom I get with open arms Of course, chances are excellent that it will all be fine, for you and for me. I don't know how far I am either, so we're in a similar boat. I THINK I'm about 5 weeks; I'll find out more next Wednesday at my ultrasound. Good luck to you. Keep us updated about how you're feeling and how things go.

I was actually scheduled to get the IUI on tuesday, but I have been doing the OPK and I had my LH surge today. we went in for an US and he said we would ovulate tomorrow.( So we moved up the IUI and I gave my trigger shot at 10:00 this morning. I numbed my butt with ice and it didn't hurt until about two hours later. Not bad though. Gatsby how are you feeling?
