My OB recommended vit B6 taken in conjunction with Unisom. I only took B6 so I can't comment if that worked or not. The two combined are supposed to be the equivalent of an anti-nausea drug that is available in Canada.
Personally, I found that an ice cold can of Coke did the trick. When I worked in pharmacy, we dispensed Coke syrup to pregnant ladies for their nausea. Carbonated coke is much more palatable IMO.
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes:

I had significant morning sickness (didn't help that I was doing a rotation in pediatric burn surgery at the time-I may have been ill anyway!) but I found that eating high protein foods (like cheese) helped more than things like Saltines. I also thought that sucking on lemons helped (I know sounds strange, but was oddly refreshing). Lastly, when I did that whole migraine, hyperemesis thing at 13 weeks-3 liters of NS and IV zofran worked wonders (wouldn't recommend getting to this point...but if you do there is help!). Good luck-luckily it *usually* doesn't last past 15 weeks!

Cinnamon is supposed to have an anti-emetic effect....cinnamon sticks soaked in warm water. Then of course, you drink the cinnamon water. I dont know that it works, I want to say it came from the american indian side of the family.

Unisom and B6 worked wonders for me...when nothing else did. Reglan also worked...but I was skeptical taking it all 10 months of pregnancy...which was the duration of my "morning sickness." I did lots of reading/research, and discoved that the unisom (the one in the ?blue box...there are 2 different formulations, so double check which one is for the nausea) was very safe. I found that the drug combo is indeed a very widely used drug in Canada...and it's safety profile is outstanding. (My friend's OB at Kaiser actually had pamplets suggesting this combo to relieve N/V). The number of "birth defects" born to babies of women on this drug was equivelent to the expected rates of women *not* on these drugs (or any drugs). And, it's been used for quite some time...so any long term effects has had plenty of time to manifest...
....check it out. It was the only thing that allowed me to leave my bathroom. And my baby is totally healthy, and birth defect-free.

I took ginger ale/ginger beer (if you can get a nice strong Jamaican ginger beer even better). I also drank bottles and bottles of perrier, plain, with lime or lemon. Saltine crackers and ginger cookies too.
ALso, coke or sprite, something about that fizz and sugar that helps.

I've never been pregnant, so I don't know if this works for morning sickness, but I'm constantly nauseous (have been all my life...weird) and peppermint tea really works well. It's caffeine free, too!

I had hyperemesis in my first pregnancy and found that only warm baths helped. Obviously not that useful in the office, but great in the evenings.
Someone mentioned coke above, and I would add as a caution that the carbonated made me way sicker, but flat was good.
I never did find anything that worked (tried everything!) but at least it went away at 16 weeks. Let us know what you find!

My greatest doc in the world did suggest the Unisom thing which I've done two times...def helped but fell asleep at the dinner table trying to be sociable with hubby...going to suck on some ginger stuff...did the half can of Coke at work with success but felt guioty bc of the caffeine issue (I know, I need to go get caffeine free)...and still doing Vit B6...and 16 weeks will be here before I know it!
