How many of you do eBay? Do any of you run your own eBay business? I'm actually writing an article on this so am using this thread to find you all.

I don't have an eBay business, but I occasionally sell clothing on there.

I buy almost 100% of my clothing on eBay - regular and most recently maternity. (I like higher end stuff that I can't buy locally.) I bought a lot of baby stuff - my breast pump, car seat, pack'n'play...you get the idea!! I only shop in stores for groceries. So lazy...

I started using it when my girl was too young & screamy to be taken out for long. The bidding process is kind of tedious, but at this point I buy most of her clothes this way. You can get some really beautiful stuff for a few dollars. I also sold her newborn-size cloth diapers there, so in the end diapers for her first few months of life ran us about $30. I just put the proceeds into her college fund.

I once bought a purse that ended up being a fake...oh well. I returned it and got my money back, but then I forgot my PayPal password.

My cousin's wife runs a business on ebay. All you with little girls who buy clothes at gymboree should check it out!! She makes socks and hair accessories, etc. (www.cottageroses.com). I'm proud of her becuase she had her first child at 16 and has a total of three now and never went to college...

Hi Sethina,
I don't run an actual eBay business, but I've done quite a bit of selling and buying on eBay. I started back in 1999 with just buying hard-to-find Hello Kitty items. A few years later, my parents had to move to a smaller storage place, so a lot of my old stuff had to go somewhere. Being in a small apartment, I had no room for all this stuff. I decided to sell my Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, and Teddy Ruxpin collection. It's unbelieveable how much money I made off this stuff - especially the Strawberry Shortcake toys (most over $100 a piece!). eek

I haven't sold anything since. I still periodically buy from eBay (usually buy-it-now items that are mostly Hello Kitty related), but I think I just got burned out from it. For those of you who use eBay for quite some time - have you noticed within the last couple years that there has been an increase in the number of dead-beat bidders and dishonest sellers? I think that's why I've lost interest in it a bit.

Hi Sethina,

I shop on ebay from time to time. I've bought books and computer equipment. It's a great place to find collectibles! I try not to go there too much, as it's addictive!
