Hi,

I would love to be mentored by a physician in the Houston, TX. area. I am seeking either an MD or DO who would not mind me shadowing them or volunteering in their practice. I am also seeking a mentor in medical school to guide me through the process.

I am a 25 year old mother of a 17 month old married to a wonderful and supportive husband. I am a 3rd time med school applicant. I have already taken the MCAT a number of times. I am currently working on my Master's in Biological Sciences. I am a stay-at-home mom while I attend school in the evenings. I was a research Assistant in an NIH-funded research project for about 3 years.

Medicine is a passion of mine albeit a calling so dear to my heart. I have applied to PA school in the past and was placed on the alternate list (I guess they figured it was a back-up for med school). I've been considering an intensive one-year BSN program in case I do not get accepted into next years MD/DO class. I enjoy pateint care and if I do not get into med school, I'll definitely seek a career in other healthcare fields so I can at least earn some income while I keep pursuing medicine.

I enjoy reading and performing poetry, amateur acting. My greatest love, though, is singing at churches, conferences and events.
