I am an older hopeful premed student. I am seeking a
mentor that would be willing to provide even long distant support to someone who would like to bceome a psychiatrist to serve my local rural community. I have a masters in counseling which I acquired late in life. I am in my early forties, but I still believe that I can achieve the goal of completing medical school this late in my life.
I will make this email short as I have a long arm cast (had ulnar osteotomy due to positive variance of the ulnar bone) and typing is not so easy right now.

Being a new premed student myself, I'm not in the position to be a mentor. I'm 34, married and have 2 kids . . . was in the Navy for 10 years, then got out and became a stay-at-home mom. Just recently I discovered that I wanted to be a D.O. so I am taking my first class (Intro to Chem) toward that goal starting on Monday. I have a BA in English so I have a lot of science prereqs to complete before I can take MCAT and apply to medschool. :boggled: So as someone who will be going through a lot of the same premed stuff you'll be going through, we can send private messages or email for support if you like. I know that I'll probably need lots of support myself!
