Anyone else trying to plan a wedding this year? I'm getting married in October, and at this point, it's the last thing on my mind. I'm not sure who those Martha Stewart wedding magazines are aimed at, but it certainly isn't anyone trying to graduate, work as a doctor, or go to medical school!
Anyone else switching between white coat and white dress this year? Audrey

Hi Drey, Are you pre-med like me or are you already in med school? I'm getting married in August 2004 and like you, it is the farthest thing from my mind. Working full time, 6 days a week and going to school full time (early bird classes before work, then evening classes after work), it seems as if there is never enough time to do anything, least of all plan a wedding. Right now I'm trying to decide on a dress and it doesn't help that I'm kinda picky about it). I sometimes worry about having time to spend with my husband and about having children (i'm 33)and how medical school will affect all of this (assuming I manage to get in). But then my boyfriend is so sweet and encouraging. He makes everything sound as if it will be ok in the end. How are things for you?

suzyq, I'm also pre-med, but I will be going to med school in the fall after I graduate in May. I'm going to school full time and working in a lab, but it doesn't seem like I'm working as much as you are, and I still can't find the time to think about the wedding. In addition, my family lives in the midwest, and I'm out in Boston, but I want to get married in my hometown, so I'm planning a long-distance wedding. My fiance is extremely supportive of me going to medical school, but he also is leaving the decision up to me entirely as to where we're going for medical school. Sometimes I wish he would say "I like city A better" or "I found an interesting job in city B" so that I wouldn't be the sole "at-fault" for where we're moving to. Men! Supportive as long as they don't have to make the decisions. He's the same way about wedding details. "Whatever you like best." Good thing I love the man as much as I do. Good luck with your planning! Audrey

Hello ALL
I am gettng married in October. I am so behind the only thing that I planned so far is the hall. Am I in trouble. I have never done this before and of course my fiance feels that it is simple so he is not worried. He says all you need is a dress, flowers, music, limo, tux and of course he can not forget the wedding night attire and we are done. As women we know that there are so many in betweens that he is missing. Please help.

I'm a 2004 bride, too! July 10. I've never really imagined myself as a bride or planning a wedding, but here I am! This is a big (happy) deal for my family and his family, so it's been kind of stressing me out (I guess in a good way!). I let my premed courses take a back seat, and I'm pretty glad I did right now. I can breathe a little easier, at least Good luck to all of you brides! Keep me posted on your progress :-) amy

Hey! I'm looking at 10 October, and I've been fortunate enough to get a cool response from my program, they said it's your life, go for it, (in terms of asking for that week off). Here's an idea..... What we are planning on doing is super private and simple. We are actually copying my sister (who has experienced both the BIG wedding and the one we're going to do, and she prefered the latter) What we;ve been talking about is to go do an island wedding. Take a cruise to the island (St. John's or St. Thomas) adn get married on the beach! Here's the website... http://www.weddingstheislandway.com/ It's nice to have known someone that has done this to know that it all ran super smooothly. Congratulations everyone! Ellie
