what is the best way to find a good DO??? I'm sure this fits in with a larger question about how to find a good doc... I just moved and need a new PCP, but only found one DO in the city listed (which can't be true). Thanks (I'm an MD, but think I would've fit well in DO school) RS

If you want a DO who just does OMM, check the Cranial Academy website, type your zip, and it will locate a member nearest you. If you want a DO who does primary care, check as above and ask them for a referral.

I am a registered nurse, mom of three boys and will start a special program at KCUMB this fall. I will start in the College of Biosciences, and get a great education in research application, then in the Fall 08 start as a first year med student in the DO school. I am really excited to get started, they seem to have a great mentoring system set up. My mentor will be a first year that went through the program I am entering.
I am a nontrad as well, having been a nurse since 1998, and completing the premed prerequisites after my third child was born. My husband has encouraged me all the way. His biggest fear is the finances. Anyone have any words of wisdom or reassurances for him? confused
I look forward to the next five years and hope to get to know some others in my situation.
