Hi,

Just wondering....I'm already registered for the April MCAT...however, I feel that I'm not 100% prepared to take it this April. My question is is it worth it to sit for the April exam just to get experience, void it, then take the real thing in August VS. to just getting a refund and taking it in August? Will adcoms know that you tried to take the MCAT and voided it?

If you void it adcoms will not know (I think) but check the aamc website to make sure...IMHO taking it for practice is what you do when you take the practice exams on your own right? so why pay so much to take it for practice with a proctor present? and if you go this route you will not even know how you did...

Took another practice test today... only the BS and PS sections though, but I did time them... and got a 5 and a 3, respectively. Now I'm really discouraged and wondering what my problem is. I don't think I'm freaking myself out about it, but I could be in denial. I'm hoping the AAMC practice test I took is a better approximation of what I'll get on the real one, and that the other ones I've taken are harder than the real ones so you'll study harder or something (they were practice tests out of 2 different MCAT study books). I'm going to take another AAMC one soon, but with the test being less than 2 weeks away, I'm really worried. :boggled:

The best predictors are the AAMC practice exams..some MCAT books with practice exams are extremely difficult so do not despair. If those scores were from AAMC exam then I would consider postponing to August ...but this is just what I would do...again think and be objective about your study habits and practice exams. Only you will know if you truly gave it your all. Good luck!

My last practice exam, in which I didnt do the verbal was the 6R, I scored a 10 in BS and a low end 8 on PS.

The time is drawing near....

I know this is awful...but I am so glad that I'm not the only one going through this. I took the AAMC 6R and got a 19 confused 10VR 5PS 4 BS. I couldn't believe it. It's my lowest scores yet. I've taken 8 practice exams: Five from Kaplan and three from the AAMC. tired

I've been working so hard to get "good" at this and I'm getting really nervous. I'm registered for the April exam but I've been so scared of not doing well. [Boggled] But then again, I don't think that I will ever feel prepared...So, I decided to sit for the April exam. [crossfingers] I've studied and prepared as much as I have been able to and if I don't do well, I will retake it in August. [Tired]
These are my sentiments exactly. My highest score on the AAMC practice exam was 29 (11-VR, 9-PS, 9-BS) and it's just gone downhill with the Kaplan and Peterson's practice exams. Everyone's been telling me that the non-AAMC exams are much harder, so that boosted my confidence a bit, but like you said--I'll never feel prepared.

This is for RAD in regards to voiding your MCAT. Someone in my Kaplan course told me of a friend of theirs who wanted to void her test. However, the proctor asked out loud if anyone wanted to void their test and the poor girl was too embarrassed shocked to raise her hand. So she ended up not voiding. FYI

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO IS READY TO TAKE MCAT IN 9 SHORT DAYS. AS FOR ME...I know I didn't study as hard as I should have :censored: so I am waiting until August frown
