Yeah, I know it seems a bit early to be thinking this far ahead but based on my recent 2 MCATS's, I think NOW may be a good time to start thinking about my future.
What am I going to do differently? Well, I'm retaking Physics I and II, General Chemistry I and II and Organic I and II. I'm also taking Physiology, Neurology and Immunology, Why? Because one of the schools I'm applying to won't accept my VERY old prequisites and because I haven't had the prequisite classes in over 10 years. In retrospect and after talking to many current physicians/medical students with MCAT's similar to mine, "recency of information" should help me get that elusive 30+ MCAT I'm reaching for. I just wish I had though of this last summer although I'm sure I would have scoffed at the idea!

Hi, I was wondering how old your pre-requesites are? I have very old ones too (93-94). I think it might be a really good idea for me to repeat them too since having fresh subject knowledge from classes will be very beneficial for the MCAT.

Hi Path, Possible Apr 06 MCATer here! It will be my first time around though. I will be short a quarter of o-chem and physics though... but if I wait till Aug to take it I'm late in applying... I already have all of the examkrackers books and AO. Thinking about getting the 1001 questions books also... I just want to be so~ so~ well prepared... I'm in California so I HAVE TO get above a 30 or else it's bye-bye med school for me! Plus my BCMP GPA is like a 3.65 and that's not good enough! So I'm starting my o-chem and physics in the fall and I need to get A's in all of those to bring my BCMP to a 3.7 ish... :rotfl: Are you going to take a prep course also? I think I'm gonna go for Princeton Review... We have many many choices here, Berkeley Review, Princeton Review, Kaplan and Examkrackers... I have actually never heard of anyone who has taken the Examrackers course. So if anyone out there can give some insight into that one it would be great! Anyway, keep in touch and good luck to ya!

April 06 MCAT taker right here! But I will be short 1/2 a semester of Physics. At the post-bacc program I am enrolled in, they had said any classes over 5 years old had to be retaken-- now this could be some sort of moneymaking scheme on their part-- but since I hadn't taken any biochem and have had rudimentary genetics I figured I had better take the bio related classes over.
