Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but I am doing a bit of research on EMRs. I was looking up who the big players are in the industry and got to thinking, are there any companies that take these EMRs, extract out the patient confidentiallity and sells the data to other firms? i.e. drug firms? One would think that if Drug A is being sold by Company XYZ, that they would want to know how well Drug is being perscribed? and to whom? race, wealth, gender, age? Just a thought, again, there arent too many medical forums out there so I posted at this one. if anyone has any source of info on this I would be very appreciative to hear about it. Thanks.
