Well, you off to plan B. UAG in Guadalajara, Mexico because your start date, was not any other ad-coms start date. Thank the Lord, for even having a plan B. If all the med schools indicated that 2500 to 4600 aps were received for the avg. 120 class seats, how many other applicants even had a plan B? Whoosh. If they didn't then they'll be spending ap monies again and having to wait another 18 months of their life to see if they get in or just receive those rejections. I don't think I can bargain on this right now. Staying focused is hard enough.
I am going to Guadalajara on May 17, 2004 for the final interviewing process May 19th. I am told that provisionary admission has been granted due to my long extensive background. i have yet to receive the real letter as that comes after my iterview. what a hurdle. it has been enough to question how one is eliminated from the concept of even wanting to go deeper into the healthcare field. I know that as an RN, i'd never be able to set up practice. What could i really do with a Ph.D in Nursing? Teach? Research? I want to have my own practice. i can't see doing this another 20 years. I alwayswanted to be a M.D. and have my own practice. A.R.N.P still needs a M.D. to sign off on their charts. Can't see that either.
Now, an international move is the only way to make my dream come true. I'm getting "jiggy with it." It takes a lot of logistics because we're all going as a family. schools and daycares, housing, transportation, furnishings, international student visas. apostille seals. official transcripts.
and on top of it all, i'm finishing my pre-req's that need completing in order to matriculate.
what a mess. but i'm as happy as a "bug in a rug"
oh, don't forget to situate the home front here for when you return.
can you do it all? why not? the visa to travel has been processed for myself and the kids, in may. i have already located an 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with all furnishings so that will be looked at. i have made contact with hotel, flights are squared away. looking for daycare and into the elementary school for the 8 yr old.
and don't forget, someelse did all this before me. i'm not re-inventing the wheel. someone else has been down this road. if she comes across my entry, will she respond to give me words of encouragement. do so to lcdjrn@yahoo.com.
daughter's 1st communion pics, next week. physics exam tomorrow morning. organic chem lecture and lab in afternoon.
got to go. update when more has happened.
