Hello everyone! A little background... I am a single mom turning 30 next week. I have one son who is almost 4. Finished undergrad in 2002 but didn't get accepted to any med schools. I decided to take a "break" from school after that. After my son was born in 2006 I started working at a Family Practice clinic answering phones. I eventually went through an 8-month medical assisting program and moved into a different position at the office. I love the field of medicine and I'm not getting any younger, so I know the time to do it is now. I'm currently taking a Kaplan MCAT course and will take the exam in January, apply in June. My brain cells are definately rusty but I am determined to make it this time.

GOOD LUCK w/MCAT! It sounds like you are on the right track. Are you applying to only MD schools or DO schools as well? It may be worth your while to look into both.
