We live in an old house which is in need of a paint job.

My 3 year old just came over and told me that "the sky inside the house is peeling"

From the 7 y/o:
"Tell me again why there is a pile of clothes immediately BEHIND your hamper?"

"Bad aim."

4 yo:
- "Mommy I found a hooker!" (holding a little plastic hook)
- "Mommy are you hottie?" (I was hot, yes, temperature wise!)
- while pretending to be on the phone "I'm in You Nork, where are you?"

and how he broke my heart:
boy: "I love you"
mom: "love you the most in the whole world"
boy: "me too, for now"
mom: "what do you mean for now"
boy: "when I marry Jane, I will love her more than I love you"
mom: cry

My baby isn't born yet, but one of the first times I felt it kick, it went straight for the pager. It's nice to know my child is on my side.

While driving home, asking the children what their favorite part of the day was:

daughter, 4: "dancing and play doh"
daughter, 2: "i made you picture mama"

Son, 6: "When all the older girls chased me, mamas" (bashful sound, with ear to ear grin)
Me: "What do you mean older girls?"
Son: "I think they are all in second grade" (proud now, grin continues)

Me: *sigh*, thinking to self "I thought I would at least be an intern before this started"

My mom was visiting. His other grandms lives with us. Son, 4, describes to my mom his family as "mom, dad, sis, and grandma". So my mom says "what about me, am I not part of your family?"
son: "no"
mom: "why do you think I come spend time with you all the time?"
son: "because you love me!" (obviously!) the kid thinks he's so special unrelated people come from all over just to spend time with him. At least I don't have to worry about his self-esteem!

OK-so my oldest (6yo girl) is starting to get into American Girl dolls. She asked Santa for one the night before Christmas. Needless to say, it didn't come. A few weeks later, we were talking about it.

"Mom, I really want an American Girl Doll."
"Well honey, they are pretty expensive."
(Deep sigh)"I KNOW that mom, that's why I asked SANTA for it! Then it would be free!"

I was pregnant with my third child.

5yo Daughter-"Mommy, how does the baby come out?"
Me, after a pause, with internal debate b/c I want to tell my kids the truth..." Well, it comes out of mommy's 'gina"

5yo daughter-pauses-"Does that hurt?"

Me-"A little bit!"

Husband-"Hon, I thought we said we weren't going to lie to them!"

Me-"Yeah, but I want grandkids someday!!"

Aww...

From cute 5 y/o girl en route from school today, so quietly I almost didn't notice:

"when I was a little girl -" me: "When you were a what?"
"When I was a little girl and went to [the babysitter little brother goes to].."
She totally meant it! She's so big-little. I can't stand it. They're delicious.

When my son was a toddler he had the hardest time saying the letter L in words. His fustration with verbalizing came to light when little sister actually changed words to suit her liking.

We were in the car one day and my "baby" sees some balloons and says:

"Look it's bloo-nah, bloo-nah" only to year my son correct her by saying, "no, Vic, it's bawoon.

My husband and I looked and eachother an busted a rib trying not to laugh.
