My school of choice requires the MCAT, but no specified courses. Should I take the biology, chemistry physics and organic formally through a classroom, or I could also do some of the coursework as per the MIT Open CourseWare, where they provide the lectures, notes, assignments and tests online for free. They don't mark your work, but most of the courses provide answer guides for the assignments and tests to compare yourself to.

The perks of taking the MIT Open CourseWare would be that I would probably finish my prep earlier, and I would save 1000s, some of which could go to a formal MCAT course. The cons would be that I wouldn't have credits for those courses. Currently, I am doing my first course online through a University, so it is entirely home study regardless.
