My wedding band has small stones on it. Have never seen a detailed ring policy. Just either yes or no, and no was for OR and our NIUC's too, plus PICU/ED for line placement. Put mine on a necklace when I had to take them off. Almost lost them in bathroom on the scrub strings. Thank goodness they fell on the floor not in the toilet!

I stopped wearing my engagement ring to the hospital, mostly because of glove issues. I will wear a wedding band with diamonds sometimes; other times just a plain one.

My OR trick is to safety pin the rings to my scrub shirt THRU my bra strap. That way I cannot lose the rings when I take my scrubs off. A necklace makes me nervous; it can always break and mess up the field (and patient).

thanks for the tips! I like the idea of pinning rings to scrub shirts through the bra strap.
