Hello,
I am about 60% done with my pre med (bio med) and have two children, one is 7 and the other 11. It has been hard but I always make time for my studies, and the kids. I found that having a very structured schedule really helps. I have reduced most expenses and live off of very little so I can attend school full time. I have found that living on less isnt so bad.
I am 29 years old and hope to be finished with my pre med classes by 33 years old. I am totally the oposite of a traditional student. I think if you have enough tenacity, and dedication you can do it.
I have had plenty of people tell me to put Med School off until the kids are older, and people telling me it is selfish to decide to take on such a time consuming path. I just take what they say with a grain of salt because if they truly knew that this isn't just a dream its a calling, and a passion they would understand.
Just stick with it, do what your heart and brain tells you to do. Your kids will admire the dedication, and hard work in the long run.... THE KEY is STURCTURE.
