Hello. I'm very pleased to find mommd.com. What an encouraging site! Professionally I am a medical transcriptionist. I type several different practices. I love medicine.. I am married 10 years, and have known in my heart I would like to become a physician since I was a teen. I was raised in a rural area, and now, at 36, am finally contemplating beginning college courses toward medical school. I worked for a large corporation for 11 years before becoming a medical transcriptionist. I have no children, but am very happily married and enjoy my home and cat. So... I am a bit overwhelmed. How or What do I begin with to make myself a competitive candidate at my age? Also, I have never taken the SAT. I may begin school in January. Any direction and advice will be appreciated. So far, I have received two great encouragements...
1. My family doctor "You should go to medical school and become a doctor."
2. A teacher told me " You should be at a University."
I wish I would have started earlier, but I guess I just have to begin now. Thanks for reading my post.
