I'm going to take the MCAT in about 12 weeks and need a good source of books for home study. I have been suggested ExamKrackers materials. Any thoughts on how effective this series of MCAT preps books is? Are there suggestions for other brands?

I can't afford to take a class, so what is the best way to home study?

I think which is best is going to depend on what your bringing to the table academically. EK works well if your grades in the preqs were outstanding AND recent (w/i 2 years), and you just need a review. If you actually need to LEARN something and/or your knowledge in those preqs is incredibly old, then I'd suggest TBR.

decidophobia--
I have a set of old (2006-ish) Kaplan MCAT books, flashcards, and ExamKrackers audio CDs (bought the CDs on Ebay, thought they were authentic, but they are really just copies--grr I was mad...) anyway, I would love to pass these resources on to someone else! Maybe if I could just be reimbursed for some of the shipping cost (it's a heavy box with all the books), that would be great. If you are interested, just let me know and I'd be happy to send everything out to you!

I loved Exam Krackers! I think they are the best bang for your buck.
