Hello, my name is Christy.I am 35 years old and I have 3 children ages 15,10 and 5. They keep me busy so I am only able to take on 3 classes at a time.

I have lurked for the past couple of years and tonight I decided to just jump right on in and introduce myself. This site is just so wonderful. I have enjoyed reading people's journals as well as posts. I am hoping to make friends and aquaintances here. It is important to be able to share experiences with people headed in my direction...I need all the support and guidance I can get! I feel all alone on this journey and I have my doubts.

I have only dreamed about being a doctor since I was 18, but that dream became more of a goal when I was found to be infertile. I wanted answers that none of my doctors really knew the answers to. So I made up my mind to put myself through school to not only obtain the answers for myself, but also for the many women and infertile couples struggling through this.

My first goal was to be a reproductive endocrinologist, but I have become more flexible and have added new specialties to my list. I am sure this will change throughout my years of school and rotations. I am just glad to finally have the opportunity to set the ball rolling.

hi doc mom! i'm new to the forum as well, though i've been lurking for a month or so.

i'm 22 years old, married a year and a half, a first year osteopathic medical student and in less than a week i'll have finished my first semester of medical school(!). =) overwhelming, holy cow yes, but i am convinced every day that there is nowhere else i'd rather be. i have been working on a concurrent MPH as well, but have decided to take a year between 2nd and 3rd years to finish it.

i'm loving this community of women and the varied perspectives, especially with regards to married/family/parenting life. kids are on our radar (the MPH isn't the only thing i'm planning on doing with that year off!) and it's gratifying to hear so many success stories and been-there-done-thats.

i've always wanted to do primary care, and am still leaning toward family practice, but now i want to be sure to incorporate OMM into my practice as well, and i'm fascinated with OBGYN though i don't think that's the lifestyle for me.
