Does having a GED significantly hurt your chances of getting into med school?

Hey -- I'm certainly not an admissions committee ;-)
but it seems to me that it's much more important what comes after the GED. You'll have at least 3 years of college and MCATS (and volunteering, hobbies, research, whatever) past the GED on your application.

I dont think anyone checks highschool stuff once you've finished an undergrad program.

Having a GED is not going to hurt you in anyway when applying to medical school. In fact, you could include the turn-around (if there is one, I'm not going to assume every person who has a GED has one because of difficult life experiences but that is my only experience with it) and show personal growth.

No GED is not going to hurt at all. They will be looking at your MCATS, grades and volunteering work. Look imagine you were to choose between two students. One that graduated from high school with B's and C's and the other student that has a GED but has a 3.8 gpa, Mcats scores high and volunteer experience. Who would you choose?
