I've been reading this forum for the past year and finally decided to join. Thanks to TexasRose for her blog which has been a good read and so helpful.

I have three children (1, 4 and 6 years) and my burgeoning interest in medicine, that began when I had my first, is becoming a strong desire that won't subside. I have even prayed it away and instead of ceasing, I find myself at Sam's Club buying anatomy books for pleasure reading. If I pursue this, with pre-reqs and med school I will be nearly 50 by the time I begin practicing, but as someone on here once said, I'll be 50 anyway.

So I am here to explore if medical school is the path for me, my family...and my minivan. wink

Welcome! I just joined as well. I am 25 years old and also have three children ages 4, 2, and 5 months. I am almost a junior, trying to get all of my prereqs out of the way, but I don't plan on starting med school until the baby starts school. I agree that TexasRose was very inspirational in her story of becoming a doctor while raising a family. Good luck and I hope to get to know you better!
