The new computer-based format for the Medical College Admissions Test has led the Association of American Medical Colleges to dramatically increase the number of testing dates.

In the year 2007, the MCAT will be administered 22 times, on the following dates: January 27; January 29; April 7; April 12; April 16; May 11; May 16; May 25; May 31; June 15; July 13; July 24; August 6; August 9; August 14; August 16; August 20; September 7; and September 8. The exam will be offered twice on June 15, July 13, and August 9. Registration for the testing dates from April 7 to May 31 will begin on December 27, 2006. Registration for the testing dates from June 15 to July 24 will begin on February 14, 2007. Registration for the testing dates from August 6 to September 8 will begin on April 11. The regular registration period typically ends after about two months, at which point there will be another week in which late registration is possible.

Students can expect to receive their score reports about 30 days after the testing date. On the day of the test, students should arrive 30 minutes before their appointment time. Before testing can begin, each student will need to provide evidence of his or her identity, in the form of a current, government-issued identification card that includes both a photograph and a signature. At this time, students will also receive their seat assignment for the exam. Students who do arrive 30 minutes early may not be allowed to sit for the exam.
