A must have for an entrepreneurial physician is a blog

Okay, this is MY opinionated view ... coming from an entrepreneurial physician for whom a blog has been a hugely valuable business building tool!

Most of you know by now what a blog is -- when I first started mine in 2006, they were not nearly as well understood -- but in case you aren't sure, it's "a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent 'post' (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom." (I'm quoting Darren Rowse, one of the earliest successful bloggers).

The upside of having a blog has been the abundance of new connections I have made over the years (networking, networking, networking!).

Here are some of the other marketing benefits you can anticipate (it's worked for me!):

When I got an email a couple of days ago with the offer of access to a free handy guide, I jumped at it, on your behalf.

"How to Start a Blog: The Beginner’s Guide to Successful Blogging" is an online manual providing steps to blogging success, created with the help of many authority bloggers. It appears to be a in-depth resource with video tutorials for all the needed steps to get your own blog up and running.

The site offers tutorials on topics such as:

The guide is a rich and deep resource, that looks like a one-stop shop for all your basic education on the topic.

I urge you to put aside your fears about not being a good writer and "what will I have to say this anyone actually cares about?" There is no special gift required for maintaining a useful blog that adds "fresh, relevant content" (Google's favorite breakfast food) to your website ... just the determination to express yourself, interpret content, or comment on current events in your area of expertise once a week is good enough!

Best of blogging success to you!
