The Dermatology Board Review offers a summary of valuable curriculum concerning Dermatology and purposeful administration that prepares participants for the Dermatology Board exam, maintenance of certification self assessment questions, and recertifying exam. It is intended to be an in-depth review of possible topics that may appear on the exam. The course focuses on general dermatology topics including basic science, basement membrane biology, dermatological manifest of internal disease, hair and nail biology/disorders, skin cancer, pediatric dermatology, drug metabolism, and many more. Sections will be commited to reviewing both exam relevant procedural dermatology and dermatopathology.
Every topic will be presented in a one hour lecture. Attendees will be able to access lectures via Online, DVDs, or Audio CDs at their leisure and convenience. Presentations will be projected in powerpoint format along with the speakers? commentary superimposed with correllating slides. Participants will be given powerpoint slides to allow for note taking and ease of review, enhancing the educational experience and ultimately outcomes.
When each lecture has been viewed in it's entirety, participants will be required to complete a five to 10 question quiz. Quiz questions will be multiple-choice or true-false and include pictures derived from the PowerPoint presentation that are a part of the lecture. Once the participant completes the quiz by correctly answering 60% or more of the questions, the lecture is successfully completed. Upon completion of the lecture and passing the associated quiz, attendees are able to submit for continuing education credit.
Learners will also be given a survey as a means of course evaluation in order to meet further needs and continually improve this ongoing academic course.
