The Brigham Renal Board Review Course was developed with the intent to enhance renal medicine knowledge by presenting a comprehensive update; a case-based summary of challenging clinical problems; and a review of literature to guide evidence based practice. This program can also serve to prepare attendees for the ABIM Board Examinations (Certification/Recertification) and offers daily board review question & answer practice sessions in every specialty area of nephrology. The course will also include daily case-based lectures & meet the professor luncheons covering the most vital topics in renal medicine. Throughout the program, emphasis will be placed on the practical application of physiological principles to the understanding and management of clinical problems particularly for board exam preparation.
In addition, self-study material via DVD, CD, MP3 and MP4, containing all general session lectures recorded from this live activity (not including lunch sessions) will be included and offered as an additional personal teaching resource to help prepare for the board exams. This material will be presented to attendees on site, as well as for purchase by non-attendees who would like to view or listen to the courses, take the post-test, and receive credit. For non-attendees the course will offer a chance for them to view or listen to live lectures in preparation for the renal board review, and for onsite attendees, it is an opportunity to reinforce their education. The post-test and evaluation form will measure knowledge gained, competence, intent to change, etc.
