organ donation??

Actually, I've worked with the transplant unit at the university where I work, and I believe that donor habits and health ARE part of the eligibility considerations. However, if you have a living donor transplant, the organ is frequently from a relative or someone the family has found and requested the organ from, so there's no "worthiness scale" in that sort of situation.
I can imagine it's hard to see an organ go to some one who won't treat it as well as someone else would.
And as for me--hey, as soon as I'm done with this body, use whatever is still useful and cremate the rest- I won't be needing it!
