hm, some kind of mix of enthusiastic, enraged, sensitive, and questionable. ("Oh my gosh--leukocytosis--crap, what is that again, i don't know, how did they let me into med school?") Hm, maybe the 13th one should be "nervous guy".

Is it possible to be sensitive and enraged at the same time?

Definitely. You can be enraged over something that's happening to your patient.

I've seen this strip before, she actually has a good blog too. The author is now a resident in anesthesiology.

I am probably also the perpetually enraged...

Hilarious! Sadly, I can probably see myself as the gunner... But I also have sensitivity, too. I have this crazy need to be the best, but I wouldn't even be getting into medicine if it weren't for my sensitivity to people and desire to better the lives of patients. (Cue sappy music...)

I have to agree with Erin... I used to be sane. I am now totally the enraged one... intern, resident and now chief resident.

I found myself on the verge of ranting and raving today; I just kept reminding myself: only 59 days... only 59 days....

Linda

(who now only has 58 days left!)
