I'm currently an MS3 so have residency applications on my mind. I had my first child at the beginning of MS1 and am expecting my second this summer. Needless to say, I haven't had a bunch of free time to pad the CV with volunteering and leadership like activities as I prefer to spend the little free time I have with my family.
I was wondering if anyone had thought of a clever way of accounting for the time commitment on residency applications. I'm not sure how I would bring it up in a personal statement or if I even should at all. Likewise, our school wants us to come up with 3 descriptive words to summarize our accomplishments or describe our activities during medical school ... examples given were "leadership" and "humanism" and I wanted to include one that would describe my dedication to my family. Any ideas?
