Is it possible to commute to medical school?

Thanks you guys for the insight. I have a friend, whose like a mother to me, who went to the med school I want to attend and she lived in an apartment over the garage of her cousins' house.

I remember her telling me what a wonderful place that would be for me to live if ever decided to go to that particular school. I can't believe I never considered that place until now. Knowing there will be a family around that I know and could possibly smuggle dinner from here and there, will possibly take the edge off of the homesickness.

Her cousin's family is super cool, because I have spent holidays with them and they were always so very nice to me. I am glad you girls are here to talk to. Just give me a little priming and eventually I'll figure it out.

Thanks! As we say in Louisiana, "Y'all Rock!!"

You can commute, but it gets tougher when you hit the clinical years. I lived 1 1/2 hours from my school and to get to the OR by 6a ment getting up at 3:30 to shower, dring coffee, etc. But it can be done..it is only temporary.
