I am about to shadow my Internist for the first time (Yea! :scratchchin: Can anyone tell me which brand is generally preferred? I know I'll have to buy one when I get to Med School, so I want to buy the right one the first time so hopefully I won't have to buy another one later!
Thanks for your help!

Go to the store and try some out. It's important to find one that is comfortable.
Don't worry about it "lasting," you'll probably want a shiny new one when you start med school anyway. I bought a fancy (heavy) Littman and it was overkill. My practice bought all the medical assistants these really nice lightweight Littmans that where made out of a nice polymer plastic. Loved those. They didn't tug at my ears and didn't fall off my neck. I'd look for one of those. Lightweight is nice, but make sure it's good quality and you can HEAR!
This is the one I was thinking of:
