Job Summary
The Nurse Clinician is recognized for clinical expertise in working with a defined group of patients, performs clinical activities including patient care, teaching, consultation, research and maintaining public relations within the institution and community. The Nurse Clinician utilizes the nursing process as the basis for patient care practice for a defined group of patients. The Nurse Clinician assesses and implements appropriate nursing care based on nursing assessment of age, developmental stage and physical condition. The Nurse Clinician provides effective patient/family education based on individualized learning needs. The Nurse Clinician participates in education, research and performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and departmental qualifications. The ideal candidate for the Nurse Clinician role will keep abreast of current research and incorporates new scientific findings and treatment modalities in specific area of expertise into clinical practice. The ideal candidate for the Nurse Clinician Role will also take personal responsibility to understand, complete and maintain the professional and technical licensure/certifications required of the position and furnishes Scott & White with the necessary documentation to substantiate compliance.
