Job Summary
Physician Advisor, Baptist Health – Little Rock Baptist Health, Arkansas’ largest not-for-profit health system, is seeking candidates for the position of Physician Advisor – Utilization Review and Clinical Documentation Improvement for the system’s flagship Hospital. In addition, they will support the organizational mission, support the hospital through teaching and consulting, and advise the Clinical Documentation Improvement and Utilization Review departments and the hospital leadership. This physician leader will champion an effective partnership with administration and physicians. Additionally, the Physician Advisor will develop and offer expertise on matters of physician practice patterns, over- and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, levels of care, denial management, compliance and governmental and private payer regulations, appropriate physician coding and documentation requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrable track record of working collaboratively with a diverse medical staff is necessary to be successful in this role. Additional preferred qualifications include: • Values and embraces organization mission. • Solid foundation, knowledge, and/or experience in the areas of utilization management, quality improvement and patient safety. • Broad technical base to include appropriate computer skills and EMR expertise. • Familiarity with MCG/InterQual placement status criteria is preferred. • Special consideration for past Physician Advisor experience.
