I work for much less than I am worth in trade for the benefit of working less than half time, on an hourly basis, with tons of flexibility.

Do you work for much less per hour?

Let's say a physician averages $80/hour ($200k/year working 50 hours/week and 50 weeks/year). Are you saying you would work for $60/hour to be allowed to work fewer hours with flexibility? Or are you taking a much smaller salary than your training would command because you want to work fewer hours?

Much less per hour. The tradeoff is that I get paid no matter how many patients come through the door, and I can rearrange my schedule with relative ease.

I think you have an enlightened employer, Docmomof3! It seems like your employer pro-rates part-time pay so that women who want to go part-time are not penalized unfairly.
